Boston Used Cars

Chrysler Corporation was started in 1925 by Walter P. Chrysler. It was built on the ashes of the Maxwell Motor Corporation, which Chrysler bought to get into the automotive industry, which was big business in Boston and cities all over the country. In 1928, they bought Dodge and created the DeSoto and Plymouth divisions. From there, they began to build truly revolutionary vehicles.

In the 1930s, Chrysler invented the Airflow system for engines and was one of the first US car companies to introduce flowing lines and aerodynamics into their designs. The public didn't really understand the Airflow system or just weren't amazed by it. Chrysler forged ahead, though, managing to survive the Great Depression. In the late 40s, Chrysler hit its peak, surpassing Ford Motor Company to become the number two auto maker in the US for a while.

They couldn't hold this spot, though, due to sales in Boston and other cities around the country. In the 50s and 60s, Chrysler introduced the world to the Hemi engine. This caught on a lot better then their previous Airflow technology.  Chrysler had a lot of ups and downs in the 70s and 80s. Finally, in 1998, they merged with Daimler to form DaimlerChrysler. This only lasted until 2007, though, when Chrysler was again sold. Today, there are still a lot of Chrysler vehicles on the road.
